President's Message
Thanks for visiting the HSMAI Northern California Web site to learn about our dynamic chapter and the events we've planned for 2009.
Last year was an exciting time of growth and vitality for our chapter. Here are some of the highlights from 2008:
- We increased our membership more than any other mid-sized HSMAI chapter.
- Our chapter has the most members we have had since 2005.
- Our chapter had the most exhibitors of any HSMAI chapter at HSMAI's Affordable Meetings shows.
- We held a successful Silent Auction & Social that raised funds for educational programs and student scholarships.
As we face marketing challenges in the year ahead, I hope you will rely on the excellent benefits offered by HSMAI. What is your best asset in a down economy? An HSMAI membership, which gives you access to the resources, knowledge and networks you need to maximize revenue and resources.
We've put together a powerful line-up of programs that will give you a competitive edge and help you stay up-to-date on sales and marketing trends. Check out our event schedule under the "Meetings and Events" section. Experts in areas such as social marketing, media relations, industry trends and leisure travel will share their insights with our group. In addition to our own programs and events, HSMAI's Affordable Meetings Exhibition and Conference West returns to San Jose this year. Please mark your calendar for June 10-11.
We will continue to hold events in different locations throughout the Bay Area to reach current and new members. We received excellent feedback from our members on hosting programs in different locations. This helps us expand our chapter.
Want to lend your talents to help our chapter prosper? There are many volunteer opportunities, from hospitality to fundraising to membership recruitment. It only takes a few hours each month and will give you a chance to meet others in the industry and develop your leadership skills.
